Happy New Year! Thank you for sharing your 2013 Christmas with us; though we enjoy putting Camas Christmas together, the real joy we get is from everyone who comes to see the show. Our display is officially done for the season, but we can’t wait for next Christmas–we already have all sorts of new technology and songs in the works!
We’ll be sure to post videos of all the songs from this past year soon, but for now, here’s our newest song in the lineup (and a family favorite): All I Want for Christmas by Mariah Carey. Check back soon for more.
From all of us here, have a happy, healthy, and wonderful new year. We’ll see you next December!
From all of us at Camas Christmas, we hope you had a very Merry Christmas!
As for news, some of you may have noticed new music in our lineup! We’ve added two new songs: All I Want for Christmas Is You sung by Mariah Carey and a rock ‘n’ roll version of The Twelve Days of Christmas by ReliantK. We’re excited to expand the playlist and will be sure to post video soon. Come on over to check it out for the first time or to watch it again (and again and again…). The Camas Christmas show will continue through New Year’s Eve (5 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily).
And, because we can’t say it enough, Merry Christmas and thanks for stopping by!
Brrrrrrr, it’s getting chilly! We even got a solid dusting of snow yesterday, which looks (in our humble opinions) very pretty against the lights. Have no fear, though: our neighborhood streets are currently very clear, so viewing should not be a problem.
We’re still fiddling with the show and adding pieces as we go, so don’t forget to keep stopping by! The lights and music will be running continuously from 5 – 10 p.m. every night through the holiday.
We’re on Twitter! Our brand new account is up and running (just like the show). Follow us @CamasChristmas
Despite the wind and rain, we’re excited to start up the show tonight! We’ll also be adding more songs and light features as the season continues, so keep checking in and stopping by.
Happy December 1st, everyone!
We are excited to share that the Camas Christmas show will be up and running tomorrow night at 5 p.m.!
Lulu and Frodo kept us on task as we worked on hanging up all the lights.
The 2013 season comes with new lights and new music. We’ve added more “smart” light strings to the house and yard; each individual bulb can be independently tuned to over 250 different colors, which lets us play even more when choreographing the lights to the songs. We have more “dumb” strings too (lights that change color as a whole string).
These “dumb” lights each have their own circuit board. This lets the whole string change colors (compared to traditional color-specific lights).
And speaking of songs, we’ll be adding the songs Joy to the World, All I Want for Christmas Is You, Holly Jolly Christmas, and more! We’ll be sure to add a complete playlist as songs are added through the month.
We’re so excited to share our holiday season with the community again this year. We hope you’ll come by and join the fun! Keep checking back here for more news, updates, and seasonal cheer. See you tomorrow!
We’ve had a wonderful holiday season have enjoyed sharing the show with everyone. Thanks to everyone who came to see the display and share in the festivities with us!
Tomorrow night (December 31st) is the last night of our show, and we hope you can stop by. If not, we’ll see you again next year after Thanksgiving.
From all of us here, have a happy, healthy New Year!
P.S. If you were hoping to see some video of this year’s show, check back in the next few days. We should have video clips of each song in the show linked under the “2012″ tab by the end of the week.
We’re excited to announce that we got our first snow of the season! It didn’t last long, but it sure was pretty. And, wouldn’t you know, it was the best way to celebrate the addition of our newest song, It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year as sung by Andy Williams!
We’re also adding new lights on a regular basis, including a couple of blinking cows and snowflakes at our neighbor’s across the street (how on earth did those get there?). If you haven’t been by yet, come check it out, and if you’ve already seen the show, stop by again to enjoy the newest additions.
For those interested in our playlist, our show currently contains the following:
- It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year performed by Andy Williams
- Deck the Halls performed by Relient K
- Carol of the Bells performed by David Foster
- Curse of the Ice Queen by Eric Bode
- Sugar Plum Groove by Mx47
Though Christmas is almost here, the Camas Christmas show will continue through Epiphany (Sunday, January 6).
We look forward to seeing you soon. Merry Christmas!
Thanks to the Camas-Washougal Post-Record for including an article about our light show in the Tuesday, December 11th, 2012 paper!
